Discover Bakio
Bakio is located on the coast of the historical territory of Bizkaia, within the region of Uribe Butrón, and in the middle of the municipalities of Mungia and Bermeo. While the Burgoa, Garbola and Jata mountains surround the municipality, the rivers Zarraga and the small Ondarra flow through the town.
The coastal area of Bakio is a privileged place, surrounded by beaches, cliffs, coves and promenades. San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, a protected biotope, will soon captivate us with its dazzling landscape in the middle of the sea. The Askada and Jata viewpoints also offer exceptional panoramic views of Bakio. Bakio begins its festivities on Saint Joseph’s Day, 19 March, when the txakoli harvest is presented. On the other hand, the festivities of Andra Mari are held on 15 August; but the patron saint festivities of San Juan Dolozak are held on the last days of August.

San Juan de Gaztelugatxe
This magical place is located in the heart of the Basque coast, very close to the coastal town of Bakio. The island is connected to the coast by a wooden bridge with 241 steps.
